| Success! |

PageRank 5/10, well, I'll be damned. That's pretty neat, although, PageRank isn't the be all and end all of popularity, it's a great start, don't you think!
Things are slowing down abit but that's because I haven't really been pushing my site like the other pixel sites. There is still a LOT of hype going on with these little sexy pixels, if you want to start selling these little beauties, you better purchase youself a Million Dollar Script form the Buy It Now section.
Money can be made with the right attitude and dedication. If you think you've got what it takes, show me how it's done!
Anyway, take care, oh and one more time, PAGERANK 5! hah!

| We're back and ready to rumble. |

Upload, upload, upload, upload, if I ever hear the word upload ever again it will be too soon! I’ve had enough of uploading to last a lifetime but what I require from you is your ability to upload pixels. People! Hear me now, we are past the half way mark, it’s all down hill from here, upload your banners! Advertise your business, let me be the first to 1000000.
But now for a little update on features. I spent the day coding and recoding. The site should load quicker as I now only update the main image every 5 minutes or when someone uploads an advert. This way it will save on SQL queries and it should load 5 times quicker.
Uploading has been changed too; you can now select your co-ordinates from a smaller version of the main pixel grid. This way when the grid starts filling up, people can still find the place they want without being confused with counting blocks.
Please give it a go and let me know if there are any problems, it’s been a long day and I’m certain I’ve forgotten something but I’m sure I will find out tomorrow!
At the moment it’s 4:56 AM on a Sunday and I am shattered, see all your people who are thinking about buying my script, buy it! I am a dedicated hard working family guy who will look after you in times of need! Even if I have to stay up till 4 in the morning to fix it!
Ok my eyes and fingers are loosing sync time to retire.
Till tomorrow!
PS: sorry for any problems caused during the upload downtime. I had a few people begging me ;) to enable the patch! Well, you got your wish. Enjoy.
Peace.
Oh, one last thing, vote for Rent A Patch on Million Pixel Top Sites.
Please. :)

| Half way point and the pixels keep going. |
|
Well, well. Would you look at that, here I was thinking the 5000 mark wouldn’t come anytime soon and low and behold, 5185 patches given away! Simply superb, keep ‘em coming!
Last night, I met this guy, goes by the name of Harris. Funny guy really, he runs a website with his partner Merlin, called “PixelList.com" some of you might know the name, it’s a directory of all the pixel websites on the internet and as you would guess he has been busy, very busy. He’s been viewing and reviewing all the sites available and creating some write ups for you all to feast your eyes on. So if you have a spare few minutes, head over there and check it out.
But, the real story begins here; basically we got talking and started to discuss pixels…. As you do. He said to me he would be going live on radio in an hour or so, he says to me that he would mention Rent A Patch while he is being interviewed. I was a bit skeptical at first thinking he wouldn’t waste his breathe talking about my little website. So, I decided to tune in a listen for a while, an hour passed and nothing happened, people got interviewed, questions got asked but no ‘Rent A Patch’. Disappointed was an understatement, when suddenly, I hear Harris and his mate Merlin on the radio. Still skeptical and thinking they wouldn’t mention my site but yet knowing they were on, kept me listening. I listened intensely for awhile after, when suddenly, Harris starts talking about my site, the interview was fairly long and throughout the interview my name got mentioned a good many times. I was impressed and no longer the skeptic. I couldn’t thank him enough when he finished on the radio, the man is a god and I urge you all to go and visit his site and give him the support he deserves!
I will be posting the PodCast up here when it becomes available, so be sure to keep this site bookmarked!
But for now, please continue to upload your adverts and please spread the word that Rent A Patch is in town and sticking around for a long time. The ideas are flowing; I just need the time to flow now.
Until the next time.
Peace!

| Up, up and away... |
|
Here we go, man this is crazy stuff, people LOVE PIXELS! We all love PIXELS! I just cannot believe how a simple idea can become so huge. The reality of it all is just jaw dropping, everyday more and more sites appear, and they all seem to be making a few pounds which is excellent! Spread the pixel love and introduce a new and unique way to advertise. As you are all aware I am selling this very application and it is a big hit (excuse the pun!). You can have a look at the ‘Buy It Now’ to see for yourself what all the hype is.
Anyways, keep you eyes on this site for a new change and idea!
It’s going to be a good one!

Update: 5 bids already, you'd better keep you eye on it!
ps: Reasonable offers will be considered!
To all those who have purchased the script. Unfortunately! I do work but will finish work at 17:30 GMT, I will then be home about 17:35 (I live close to work!). Please bear with me and I will get the script sent as soon as possible. |

| Another day, another patch. |
|
Day nine at Rent A Patch and yesterday was the busiest day by far! 531 Unique hits with 103 people returning for more of the action. Bring it on! Let’s fill up the grid before the money guys, come on people upload your patch! Let Rent A Patch be the first to make a One Million pixel patch. All you have to do is upload a small image and it will be done!
Check the lastest!

Uploading… The joy of my life. Yesterday was the last straw, after sorting out co-ordinates for a handful of images, I thought, for a free service I seem to be doing a lot of sorting out, wasting time when I could be working on better features for the site. So, I took the time and updated the uploading function. Images will not be allowed to overlap and where you place your image is where it stays, for now.
Keep your eyes and ears open for a something special coming your way!
If you have any problems uploading, or you find a an error on the main page, please feel free to email me. I am approachable and will help you out with anything you need. Contact Page
Cheers

| The rise and fall of the pixel. |
|
So here we are on day severn of Rent A Patch and oh my word is it getting busy around these parts. My traffic has gone from 0 to 280 unique hits in 7 days, that might not sound like much but every day seems to pull in the punters. I don’t know if any of you are aware but you may view the stats on the footer of this page. I made it available to the public because I feel it is your stats too and it might be of some interest if you were thinking of adding a patch. Go ahead and have a look here.
Over the last couple days I have been watching how different patches attract different attention, I find the more creative and eye catching your advert, the more attention it attracts, so come on guys, show me some creativity!
Some of you might also be aware that getting your co-ordinates right is a bit tricky, I am working on a new system to help prevent overlapping but for now, if you have any problems please contact me, I will be more then happy to move it to a place you feel would best suit you but please, if you fail the first time, try not upload 5 of the same adverts hoping to get one in the right place.
To finish off, I didn’t end up renting any of my patches so I decided to give them away for now. Not sure how long all this pixel hype is going to last but what I do know is; the concept of the advert page is still intriguing to me. I find the whole process of looking through the different creative adverts and logos interesting. You never know what goodies are behind the image so come on and upload your adverts, I want to fill up my page before the money making guys :)
And if you have any spare change, please donate. I will be happy to make a good home for all those pennies lying about your home, bandwidth costs money. :)

| Roll up, roll up and get your free patches. |
|
So today was the first official opening of Rent A Patch, things progressed better then I expected, I did manage to sell a few patches and also give a few away and my traffic increase 10 fold and this is only after one day! I can’t wait for the coming weeks.
One thing I don’t understand though, loads of visitors but no one wants a FREE patch! Sort yourselves out, nothing in this world is free, expect this. A free advert on what is to become a highly rank site. Open up Photoshop, MS Paint or whatever graphics application blows your hair back, create a little icon and email me, it’s simple.

| It’s alive, alive!. |
|
Welcome to this historic day, the day Rent A Patch was born. I have spent a couple days coding and managed to get things all sorted, obviously a few glitches here and there, a few updates to the FAQ’s and such likes but all in all it should be working a treat.
I know there will be people out there who will laugh at what I have done and claim it is just another copy cat site but to all those people out there, hear this, I am not out to make a quick buck, I am a hard working 28 year old guy who is happily married and would like a small project to manage. I found the idea interesting and thought I would see if I could have a go. If it works, hooray, if it doesn’t I won’t be ashamed or disheartened, I’ll keep trying until it works. Everyone has a hobby, web development is mine and running a site like this will help my development.
Don’t hate, appreciate. :)
